We’ve heard a lot of folks ask “why can’t we do both rail and trail?” When we say “it’s too narrow for both,” it sometimes falls flat. So, for those who haven’t walked the corridor, we made a little video. See for yourself why the high fill section just west of Route 28A presents what Stone Consulting called “the fatal flaw” with rail-plus-trail.
Check out this drone footage showing the rock cut section. It’s also too narrow for both a shared-use trail (for pedestrians and cyclists) plus a railroad track.
