Resolution 5 Passes Legislature 19-3

In a resounding 19-3 vote, the Ulster County Legislature granted Chair Peter Criswell the authority to negotiate an agreement with the NYCDEP to replace the Basin Road trestle.

We appreciate everyone who came out to support the legislature in voting “yes” on Resolution 5, and we thank those who chose to participate in the public comment period. As several news articles noted, a large crowd was present, with multiple individuals speaking in favor of the trestle resolution.

With the issue of the Basin Road trestle resolved, our coalition will return its attention to the “undesignated section” of the U&D Corridor and the legislature’s expected vote on it this summer.
